The winners at the Westpac Waikato Business Awards were announced at their annual gala dinner on Friday 4th November at Claudelands Events Centre, with Ultrafast Fibre’s Chief Operating Officer Richard Jeffares bringing home one of the major awards.

Mr Jeffares says winning the Emerging Leader of the Year Award is a significant achievement not just for him but for Ultrafast Fibre.

“To be given this recognition is such an honour and is definitely a career milestone. I am proud to be working alongside exceptionally talented colleagues and I share this award with them,” he says.

Mr Jeffares adds, “Ultrafast Fibre has grown leaps and bounds and achieved major accomplishments over the last few years, including the completion of our fibre broadband network in eight cities and towns in Central North Island. Our company is a strong proponent of innovation, and we are proud to be the technology enabler for Kiwis’ entrepreneurial spirit.”

Ultrafast Fibre Chief Executive William Hamilton says, “Last Friday night, the Waikato business community witnessed the quality of talent leading Ultrafast Fibre. Two of my Executive leaders were nominated for the same award with Ultrafast Fibre’s Chief Marketing Officer Richard Riley also a finalist.”

“Having a team of visionary leaders signifies our company’s and shareholders’ commitment to commercial and service excellence at a time where we now have the wider industry encouraging as many customers as possible to get onto superior fibre wherever it is available,” he adds.

“With a strong leadership team and a dedicated pool of staff, I am confident that Ultrafast Fibre will achieve greater things in the future,” says Mr Hamilton.
